Tasting notes
This is also quite spicy with its slightly earthier array of red and dark currant scents laced with a touch of forest floor character. There is noticeably more volume to the overtly powerful, if less refined, medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a compact and serious finale that flirts with rusticity. This is very Nuits in style that also offers excellent quality for its level in a built-to-age package. Drink 2032+

The 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe is especially good, wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis, wild berries, rose petals and vine smoke. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with a deep core of fruit, lively acids and a long, saline finish, it's the domaine's finest communal bottling in this vintage.
A paler pink to crimson colour, with a fine clear bouquet more red fruit than plums on this side of the village. The fruit is a little darker on the palate but expresses the clarity of Charles Van Canneyt’s style of wine.
