Tasting notes
Not yet bottled, the 2020 Hermitage Blanc is 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, all from the eastern side of the appellation (which is where the top whites come from). Ripe peach, quince, honeyed flowers, and chalky minerality all define the bouquet, and it's full-bodied and has wonderful purity of fruit, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish.

The full-bodied 2020 Hermitage Blanc comes across as slightly hollow, with shades of melon and citrus that lack mid-palate richness. It's still a decent effort, with pleasant aromas and flavors, but it falls short texturally—a hugely important component in Hermitage Blanc. I'm not sure what happened here, but I will try to get hold of another sample and update subscribers accordingly.
