Has just a touch more weight to the nose than the Symphonie. There is a real zip of freshness to the mid palate and chalky tannins that complement the red and dark earth-laden fruits. A long elegant finish – nicely put together. (AC)

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes, the top village wine here, is terrific. Rose petal, lavender, spice and a core of red/purplish berry fruit all resonate on the palate. Aromatically intense and persistent, with tons of class, the Favorites is shaping up to be a winner from brothers Eric and Jean-Luc Burguet.

Juicy with sweet fruit but not quite enough interesting undertow. Just a tad dull. (JR)
