Score 90/100 · Drink 2006, Robert Parker, Jun 1999

The 1997 Puligny-Montrachet La Truffiere possesses a wonderful nose reminiscent of baby powder (talc), chalk, and earth. It is a refined wine, with a highly detailed core of white fruits, lemons, limes, and minerals as well as a medium-to-full body. I have tasted it on four occasions since its September, 1998 bottling and it appears to be taking on more density and richness with bottle age. Projected maturity: now-2006. Importer: Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, AL; tel (205) 980-8802.
