Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2040, Neal Martin, Oct 2019
The 2016 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru feels a little muddled on the nose, just a touch of reduction that blows away, a little fiery compared to its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, harmonious and smooth in texture. There is just a touch of volatility that I notice on the finish, although it is at a level that can be countenanced and lends a needed "kick". Not a faultless Clos de Vougeot, but it has charm. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting.
