Tasting notes
A bright medium red color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva is expressive on the nose, with focused, herbaceous aromas of toasted rosemary, lavender oil, orange peel, more medicinal herbs, and dark cherries, and the nose is a bit warming as well. Medium-bodied, it has an iron-inflected mineral feel on the palate, with a slightly gamey texture, ripe tannins, and a well-balanced, earth-noted finish. It's mouthwatering on the back palate with more salinity and would do well served with game. Drink 2025-2040.

Mid to deep ruby with orange tinges. Open-knit, ripe-fruit nose with cherry and damson notes. Supple, juicy fruit on the palate and with a layer of powdery tannins. Already approachable but will improve. (WS)
Mid ruby with orange tinges. A tiny bit reduced and stalky. Rather simple red-fruit palate that doesn’t immediately reflect Brunello, but might just need more time. (WS)
