Tasting notes
The 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino pours a dark red color and opens to resinous aromas of balsamic herbs, black cherries, a hint of oak spice, and toasted rosemary. Full-bodied, it fills the palate and has an expansive feel, with ripe tannins, good freshness, and a bit more polish in the range. Mouthwatering and ripe, with a rather long finish, this is very nicely done and starting to show its potential. Drink 2026-2040.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens in the glass with a whiff of balsamic spice, cedar shavings and cherry liquor. This is silky in texture yet weighty in feel, with a glycerol wave of ripe red and black fruits that drench the palate in primary concentration. Despite its brooding nature and the intensity within, the 2019 finishes surprisingly fresh, leaving espresso bean and dark chocolate to mingle with a residual bump of brisk acidity.
Deep ruby with orange tinges. Rich cherry that is still a little dusty from the oak. Bags of tangy cherry fruit and chewy tannins that really add pizzazz to the finish. (WS)
