Tasting notes
Pouring a youthful, rich ruby color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is lush with aromas of crushed cherries, pressed violets, rosemary, and anise. Open and inviting, it’s medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a ripe, rounded mid-palate, a supple texture, and a clean finish. It retains lovely freshness and is ready to enjoy now or over the coming 6-8 years.

The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Capriolo opens with a rich blend of mentholated herbs and spice, giving way to dried cherries and roses. This is racy and sleek with cooling minerality and juicy acidity that easily propels its ripe wild berry fruits across the palate. It finishes tannic and long, yet not severe, leaving licorice and violet inner florals to fade slowly.
Mid to deep ruby with narrow bricky rim. A stalky nose that is a little impure and probably caused by reduction. Bags of sweet, juicy ripe fruit and powdery tannins. Rustic, if not short of fruit. (WS)
