The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Baudes (Domaine Gagey) is lovely, mingling aromas of sweet raspberries and cherries with hints of rose petals and spices in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with lively acids and a suave, seamless profile that's not always to be taken for granted with this site, it will offer an unusually wide drinking window.

Cask sample. Mid crimson, verging on ruby. A real charmer with a dry, appetising finish and a mass of subtle fruit. Really quite complex with lots of overlay on the not-inconsiderable fine tannins. (JR)

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Baudes 1er Cru has an attractive nose: wild strawberry, raspberry, tomato vine and light sous-bois scents all delivered with admirable delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with very lithe tannins, smooth in texture, with a pinch of white pepper and clove towards the finish. It doesn't achieve the complexity of the very best Premier Crus, though it does feel persistent in the mouth.
