Tasting notes
The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru has a slightly reductive nose with an odd swimming pool scent that feels incongruous against the dark berry fruit. Just a little diffuse. Is this corked or just underripe? The palate is medium-bodied but feels completely hemmed in. There's no flow to this Chambertin. I could not detect any TCA but it doesn't seem right to me. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru has a refined bouquet with pure red berry fruit, touches of clove and crushed stone, unfurling with each swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with some oak to be assimilated, a touch of dark chocolate filtering through the red fruit. Impressive length. This is a very refined and almost understated Chambertin.
