Tasting notes
Timorasso. Spontaneous fermentation and aged in large oak cask. Pale straw. Peppery and with a little bit of oak methinks? Intense ripe white fruit with aeration. Racy acidity layered with ripe white fruit and hints of waxy apple. Intriguing and complex (but also a touch oxidative), but I really have my doubts about the price. (WS)

The 2019 Timorasso Derthona Montemarzino is bright, transparent and super-expressive. Luca Roagna's Timorasso is one of the most refined versions I have tasted of Timorasso, which is usually a much more rustic white wine.
About the producer

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
