Tasting notes
Fresh flowers with oranges and black cherries as well as blackberries. Very clear aromas. Subtle and complex. Full-bodied but not heavy with solid and structured tannins. Chewy and muscular but remains rather agile. Give it three or four years to come together but impressive already. Try after 2027.

Peppery wild berries, dusty rose and shaved cedar waft up from the 2021 Etna Rosso Contrada Cavaliere. It's soft-textured, juicy and almost nervous in character. A sour tinge contrasts mineral-tinged red fruits and spices. The 2021 finishes structured and long, full of youthful tension, as a tart cranberry crunch lingers.
The Benanti 2021 Etna Rosso Contrada Cavaliere is punchy and bright with lots of primary fruit that recalls raspberry and redcurrant with a hint of white pepper. This vintage delivers a very clean and immediate quality of fruit that is crisp, snappy and even crunchy in texture. The winemaking style is focused and very precise. It will be fun to see where this wine goes three to four years from now. Tasted today, you definitely need more bottle age.
