From part of this climat that's entitled only to the communal appellation, the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras is more structured than the Clos du Village, unwinding in the glass with aromas of raspberries, plums, sweet spices and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, with fine concentration, bright acids and chalky tannins, it will merit a little bottle age.

1. 13-ha parcel directly underneath the premier cru of the same name. Destemmed. Tank sample. Very direct and charming with fresh fruit and real energy. Fine tannins on the end suggest it will be worth waiting for this wine. (JR)
