Tasting notes
Deep ruby-red. Roasted dark cherry on the nose. Creamy-sweet and dense, but without the sheer concentration of the Griotte. With a bit less volume here, the tannins are more pronounced and medicinal, and cut off the fruit today. A bit in the style of the Lavaux.

Produced from a parcel owned by Vincent Livera yet farmed, harvested, and fashioned by Claude Dugat, the 2003 Chapelle-Chambertin explodes from the glass with intense aromas of plums, black cherries, herbs, and cassis. A broad, medium to full-bodied wine, it coats the palate with flavors of road tar, blackberries, brambleberries, and dark cherries before revealing a firmly tannic finish. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
Medium ruby-red. Flamboyant, superripe aromas of roasted berries, smoked meat, coffee and pepper. Fat, sweet and suave, even if it comes across as less intensely flavored than the Charmes and Griottes, as if the vines were more stressed. Roasted and herbal notes are juxtaposed.
