2013 Barolo Serradenari

The 2013 Barolo Serradenari shows a dark layer of dried fruit followed by licorice, spice, tar and moist potting soil. This cooler 2013 vintage is very distinctive in that it offers a balanced approach that sees equal parts fruit and smoky spice. I'd say that this wine from La Morra, known for elegant expressions of Nebbiolo, makes that point very nicely. Only 3,000 bottles were produced.
