Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2035, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Jan 2016

The 2013 Forster Kirchenstück Riesling Trocken GC is outstandingly deep, intense and flinty on the nose, and offers white rather than yellow-fleshed, really concentrated fruits at the moment; you also get the flinty flavors of the basalt stone in this spectacular vineyard. Power, concentration and finesse on the nose are continued on the palate, which is so pure, so elegant, so intense, so incredibly nervous, refined, transparent and salty, that there is no doubt that you have one of the greatest dry white wines on planet wine on your palate. There is so much energy in this wine that the purity has nothing to do with poorness, but freshness and salinity. This is a gorgeous wine that should not be opened before 2020.
