2022 Pommard Clos Blanc

Tasting notes
This site has rich, clayey soils – and Henri Boillot bought a plot in 2008, a tribute to his grandfather who had long made wine from the vineyard, but never owned a parcel. It’s a total contrast to the Volnay, of course, with a dark intensity, yet this is still lifted by bright crushed raspberries and an elegance to the wine. There’s the typical broadness of Pommard, but with a fine structure that feels pure Boillot. More savoury dark fruit fills the long finish.
