Tasting notes
Boillot doesn’t own the parcels in Corton-Charlemagne but harvests and presses the fruit himself. Aged in 100% new oak, it’s amazing how the power of this site has already effortlessly absorbed the wood. There’s a mineral purity to the nose, leading to an intense and broad palate. Muscular with a bite of tart acidity, it’s tight and a little closed now, but there’s an energy that promises greatness.

Cask sample. Spicy, mealy oak on first impression. Hint of struck match and intense limey fruit. Powerful, concentrated yet already harmonious in youth. Intense and very long. Real grand cru quality. (JH)
