Tasting notes
From one of the greatest vineyards in the Côte d’Or, Tortochot’s Lavaux-Saint-Jacques is always impressive – in some ways unsurprising given the vines’ proximity to the neighbouring Clos Saint-Jacques. The 2022 offers a nose of sweet blueberry and strawberry, with crushed pot-pourri. It’s fine, with a floral lift and purity of deliciously sweet red-berry fruit that fills the palate. Firm, slightly grainy tannins provide a sturdy frame.

About the producer

Situated in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Tortochot may not carry the cachet of the very top domaines in the village, but it does offer some of the best value, producing wines with great terroir transparency in their top Premiers and Grands Crus, and fabulous village wines.
