Tasting notes
Drink 2027-2047, FINE+RARE, Nov 2023

At first this feels closed – quiet and brooding with hints of the dark fruit that lies beneath. With air, however, the wine reveals its depths – the lush fruit expansive and filling the mouth, with brighter red-berry tones joining the darker bramble notes. The tannins are firm but sweet, a velvet bed for the waves of fruit to crash against. The finish is long, smoky and mineral. Aged in 100% new oak.

Cask sample. Profound, deep and lingering on the nose and palate. Fresh acidity combines beautifully with the ripe dark-cherry and plum fruit notes. Spicy oak compliments. Has the concentration of the grand cru. Give this several years. (AWH)
