Tasting notes
(from a .46 ha holding). Very ripe aromas include those of cassis, poached plum and spice plus a lovely array of floral elements, in particular lilac and rose petal. The super-sleek and vibrant middle weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the utterly delicious if lightly austere bitter chocolate-inflected finale that is shaped by fine-grained tannins. This could use better depth, but more should reasonably develop as it ages.

Aromas of sweet berries, cherries, dark chocolate, spices and toasty new oak introduce the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes, a medium to full-bodied, rich and layered wine with an unctuous core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, lavish finish. Like its 2023 counterpart, it wears its heart on its sleeve.
Cask sample. Mid crimson. Smells ripe like the Vosne but fresher and more perfumed. Firm, chewy, not exactly charming but with depth and structure around the ripe fruit. Needs time. (JH)
