The 2022 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is very tight on the nose and struggles to follow the more expressive Corton Clos du Roi. It feels bashful and sultry. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, slightly obdurate tannins, a bit static, needing more flesh toward the finish. A bit overawed by other cuvées from Vougeraie.
