Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2018-2027, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015
The Amiral de Beychevelle 2014 is a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot from mostly young vines in the vineyard. It has an attractive bouquet, especially for a second label, with brambly black fruit mixed with graphite and incense all nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy on the entry with lively, brambly black fruit mixed with cassis and blueberry, not complex but harmonious and quite long. This is definitely a second wine to look out for.

About the producer

Beychevelle
With greater care in the vineyard and more precision in the winery, Ch. Beychevelle's star is rising. That's in large part due to the leadership of Philippe Blanc and investment by current owners, Japanese brewers Suntory and French wine group Castel.
