Score 91/100 · Drink 2026-2050, Neal Martin, Oct 2025
The 2021 Meursault Les Perrières 1er Cru is very reserved on the nose despite coaxing. It is a little overawed by the previous wine, Bitouzet-Prieur's Perrières, though it reluctantly reveals quite uncompromising gravelly scents. The oak does feel excessive, however. The palate is sapid on the entry with fine depth and grip, a little more phenolic than its peers with a spicy lemongrass-tinged finish that fans out nicely. My parsimonious score is because it does not really end up tasting like a Perrières. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
