Tasting notes
Deep crimson with a blackish streak. Sweet fruit dominates and really intense with good sugar/acid balance. Great energy. Super-clean finish. A bracing palate cleanser. Very direct. Admirably long. (JR)

Rose petal, sweet red cherries, mint and cinnamon are some of the notes that meld together in the 2010 Barolo Cerretta. This is a distinctly soft, fruit-driven Barolo with notable freshness, purity and nuance. Dark red stone fruits, iron, smoke, tobacco and new leather flesh out on the inviting, textured finish. The Cerretta is the most open and accessible of the three 2010 Baudana Barolos today.
Serralunga d’Alba. Cask sample. Youthful mid ruby. Hugely attractive cool-earth, strawberry and raspberry nose. Sappy strawberry fruit with real bite and crunch. Not ready yet, but impossible to resist. (WS)
A darker and more voluptuous expression of Serralunga emerges from the 2010 Barolo Cerretta, which presents softer contours than the Baudana and the straight Barolo. Layers of expressive dark red fruit virtually cover the tannins in a Barolo built on texture and roundness. I imagine the Cerretta will drink well relatively young within the context of 2010 Barolo.
