Score 89/100 · Drink 2014-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2008

The estate's 2004 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is a dark wine loaded with black cherries, menthol and sweet spices in the focused, sinewy style that is the hallmark of this bottling. Today the wine comes across as quite primary, but the tannins are refined, and my impression is that the only thing this needs is bottle age. The wine's richness and depth are commendable.
