Tasting notes
Low-key nose. Gentle – very gentle and almost sweet expression of Nebbiolo but not nearly pure enough. Overpriced. (JR)

The first vintage to be aged in large oak cask, before that in barrique. I am told to expect a stylistic change. Just mid ruby. Subdued and finely spiced, and I cannot imagine that this kind of fine nose would have benefited from French oak. Quite closed for the moment. A little bit rustic with hints of dried fruit and lots of stalky tannin. (WS)
The 2008 Barolo Parafada is the richest of these 2008s. It possesses gorgeous depth and fabulous overall balance. Layers of fruit flow effortlessly to the round, caressing finish. Tar, smoke and licorice add further shades of nuance and complexity.

The 2008s here show the delicate, finessed side of the vintage. Importer: Domaine Select, New York, NY; tel. (212) 279-0799
