Score 92/100 · Drink 2017-2024, Monica Larner, Wine Advocate, Jul 2017

The 2014 Alto Adige Pinot Nero Schweizer is fragrant and finessed with a good amount of nervous energy on the inside. This bodes well for the future evolution of the wine. Despite its screw cap closure, it should age gracefully over the next five to ten years thanks to that freshness and the quality of the primary fruit on hand. The wine spends 12 months in oak and emerges with aromas of dark berry, cassis and light spice. The 2014 vintage is not as generous as previous editions.
