The 1974 La Conseillante has a rather anonymous nose, enervated by the passing of time, though not completely unlikeable with light orange rind scents. The palate is dry with hints of dried meat towards the attenuated finish. Past its best. Tasted blind and taken from the book "Pomerol".

Looks and smells quite old and light with a certain sweetness. Fully evolved, and probably not flattered by Chez Bruce's deliciously buttery but highly spiced cheese shortbreads. A lttle flabby abd lacking freshness. Light. Sweet and chaptalised. (JR)
