Tasting notes
The 2017 Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata is soft and quite supple, as so many wines are in this vintage. Bright red-toned fruit, spice and floral notes are front and center. Lively acids preserve terrific freshness throughout. The biggest change in this wine, though, is far gentler oak imprint in the past, which is a huge positive.

Lustrous and just mid ruby. Impressive, open nose with damson and raspberry. Surprisingly light of touch on the palate with supple acidity and lots of powdery tannins. Very long and focused. Perhaps it doesn’t have the complexity of great years, but its balance is striking. (WS)
The 2017 Barolo Riserva Rocche dell'Annunziata is deep, fleshy and nicely layered in the glass. Macerated cherry, spice, mint, anise and cedar all flesh out in this open-knit, inviting Barolo from Veglio. With a bit of air, the 2017 is very pretty. It is a fairly extroverted wine from this La Morra site.
