Tasting notes
The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin La Marie sports quite a noticeable reduction on the nose that occludes the terroir expression at the moment, but that will be addressed via racking. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, a solid Gevrey, perchance without that same natural "flow" as the Gevrey Village? These two will be interesting to compare with time.

More muscular and serious than the regular Gevrey-Chambertin bottling, the 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin La Marie derives from a parcel from which the Dugat family have always reserved a barrel for personal consumption. Exhibiting aromas of sweet cherries and dark berries mingled with hints of loamy soil and espresso roast, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, with good concentration, ripe tannins and an age-worthy profile.
