Tasting notes
This is the second vintage this wine was made. The 2014 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda sees fruit from a 1.3-hectare parcel (with sandy soils) that was planted in 1986. Among the various Barolo wines produced by Conterno Fantino in 2014, this is the leanest and the most accessible. The bouquet is fragrant, balanced and bright with wild berries, spice, tar and red rose. This Barolo offers great intensity and volume that makes it almost ready to drink.

Monforte d’Alba. Tasted blind. Concentrated ruby with bricky rim. Gorgeous minerally cherry-fruit nose. Succulent and a little racy yet the fruit is not obstructed at all by the oak. Elegant and with polished tannins and energetic. (WS)
The 2014 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda kicks off this flight of 2014 Barolos at Conterno-Fantino. Unusually silky and gracious for a Castelletto Barolo, the Pressenda is simply gorgeous. In 2014, the more floral, perfumed side of this Monforte cru comes through. Beautifully persistent and impeccable in its balance, the 2014 Pressenda is a winner.
