Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed red and blue fruit liqueur, mocha and licorice scents, along with hints of exotic Moroccan spices and cola. Sweet, penetrating and expansive on the palate, offering sappy black raspberry, cherry pie, floral pastille and succulent herb flavors that become livelier as the wine opens up. Deftly plays richness off finesse and finishes extremely long and sweet, with smooth, harmonious tannins coming in late.

Cask sample. Organic. Monopole. Dark purple crimson. Fresher smelling than the Carquelin. Massively structured with tannins but it's got plenty of dark fruit and some fine rocky/dry terroir character. Big and promising. (JH)
The 2015 Moulin a Vent le Clos du Moulin was picked on 6 September at an average alcohol level of 14.4%. This vintage uses 20% whole cluster fruit, which I believe really enhances this wine. It certainly is blessed with a beautiful nose that comes across as floral and very well defined, almost Margaux-like in its sensuality. The palate is sweet and Burgundy rather than Beaujolais-inspired: very structured and pure. In keeping with the style of this quite precocious vintage there is plenty of puppy fat here but it is counterbalanced by finely tuned acidity. This will be very serious once in bottle.
