The 2011 Champagne Blanc De Noirs Les Urselles is floral and full without being heavy. It gives an impression of volume on the palate, with an approachable, quaffable nature. On the nose, its floral perfume is enveloping, elegant, and very fresh, and after a decant, it really starts to shine with currants, almond, and lemon confit. It has an ease like 2009 in its maturation, without any harsh edges, especially compared to the more linear and structured vintage of 2008. Drink 2025-2045. No filtration and zero dosage for all of these wines.

Fleshy and expressive, the 2011 Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules is drinking very well today, offering up aromas of orange oil, pear, peach and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, textural and succulent, it's a giving, attractively fruit-driven rendition of this cuvée, demonstrating what Bouchard can achieve even in a challenging year.
The 2011 Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules is quite delicate and understated in this vintage. Crushed flowers, herbs, dried cherries, kirsch, mint and anise are all nicely delineated in the glass. The aromatics are lifted and decidedly high-toned, while the wine lacks its customary balance, which brings out some angularity. The 2011 offers reasonably good balance within the context of the vintage, but not more. Tasted two times with some variation. Disgorged: April 2015.
