Score 89/100 · Drink 2028-2040, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2023
Trimbach's 2019 Riesling Sélection de Vieilles Vignes blends the fruits of old vines in Hunawihr (Rosacker) and Ribeauvillé (Mühlforst), which are all grown on marly limestone soils. Indeed, the wine opens with a clear limestone bouquet with lemon-fresh fruit aromas. Round and elegant on the first palate, this is a powerful, saline and very mineral dry Riesling with palatable alcohol on the still-challenging finish. The wine needs a certain amount of time in the bottle or a bigger glass and certainly more time to being appreciated. 14% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2022.
