Score 89/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015

Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Oliver Jouan has a beguiling, detailed bouquet with lifted pure raspberry and strawberry fruit interlaced with flint-like scents. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly rustic tannins that rather degrade the overall texture. It renders this Charmes-Chambertin a more masculine wine, a little foursquare and ferrous on the finish. I find more pleasure in the aromatics than the palate at this moment.
