2013 Batard Montrachet

(Morey vinifies fruit from his three sources separately; two of the lots finished their malos in January, the other at the end of April; 4.8 grams per liter acidity): Pure, vibrant aromas and flavors of lemon, lime, acacia flower and clove. Dense and chewy on the palate, with brisk lemony acidity framing and carrying the fruit. Not a hugely concentrated Batard but smooth and nicely delineated, with a lovely echoing spicy aftertaste.
