Tasting notes
The 2019 Barolo Brunate shows a linear and quite firm character with dark cherry, rose, crushed flint and balanced spice. The vintage is built tight and strong, and that added textural density bodes well for the wine's future bottle evolution. This is a production of 9,000 bottles.

La Morra. Lustrous, concentrated ruby. Balsamic and lifted on the nose but not revealing a lot of fruit right now. Completely closed on the palate, too, and loaded with powdery tannins. Ugly duckling with lots of potential. (WS)
The 2019 Barolo Brunate is a brooding, imposing wine. Black cherry, lavender, spice, menthol, licorice and mocha saturate the palate. This big, old-school Barolo delivers tons of impact. Readers will find a somber, stark Barolo full of sepia-toned Brunate intensity.
