The 2019 Chianti Classico Pèppoli is floral, elegant and gracious, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking over the next few years. Sweet red berry fruit, spice and floral accents give this mid-weight, lithe Chianti Classico tons of appeal. It is a wine more of finesse than size.

The Marchesi Antinori 2019 Chianti Classico Pèppoli shows bright fruit and dried cherry with some nutty tones of toasted hazelnut at the back. This is a famously simple and streamlined wine with mid-weight appeal and good acidity. It is the proverbial Italian pasta wine, whether it be a carbonara or amatriciana. The wine ages in a combination of large Slavonian oak, barrique and stainless steel vat. Production is a huge 834,000 bottles.
