Score 90-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2007

(from vines planted in 1955 and 1960) Reticent nose suggests peach and oak char. Dense, dry and penetrating, with a flavor of crushed rocks. A saline element contributes to the impression of chewy depth. The longest to this point of these 2006s, with excellent mineral thrust on the aftertaste. "My Caillerets is often peppery, but not in '06," notes Richard Fontaine. This is 14+% alcohol.
