Tasting notes
Crafted from a parcel in the south-western corner of the Echezeaux vineyard, in a lieu-dit called Les Cruots, Grivot's 1997 is medium-to-dark ruby-colored and reveals black raspberry as well as cherry aromas. It offers admirable ripeness and breadth, a medium-to-full body, as well as loads of flowers, spices, black/red berries, and toasted oak flavors. This refined wine will require moderate patience due to its somewhat firm structure. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2008. Importer: Seagram Chateau and Estate Wines Company, New York, NY; tel; (212) 572-7725.
