Tasting notes
Score 88/100 · Drink 1997-2015, Robert Parker, Jan 1998

This is an evolved wine, with an advanced medium gold color, a loosely-knit personality, medium body, some bitterness in the finish, but ripe toffee/apricot fruit, low acidity, and earth and oak nuances. It is a muscular, forceful wine that is still slightly disjointed, although impressively large. The 1989 is not as rich or complete as either the 1988 or 1990. Anticipated maturity: Now-2015.
