From the Aubert family, the medium ruby-hued 2013 La Couspaude displays notes of new saddle leather and oak, an austere mouthfeel, and a lack of generosity in the mid-palate. Nevertheless, it is decently constructed and represents a pleasant example of this challenging vintage. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.

Rich, slightly medicinal nose with very ripe, almost jammy fruit. Plenty of oak on top. Incongruously potent for the 2013 par. (RH)
