Tasting notes
The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes has a delightful bouquet that is brimming over with vibrant crushed strawberry, loganberry, minerals and rose petals, certainly showing much more sophistication than previous vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-judged acidity and impressive structure whilst avoiding any astringency. There is a palpable sense of energy emitting from this 2010 and superb tension on the finish. This is one of Cyprièn Arlaud’s finest Combottes in recent years. Tasted at Flint Wines’ Arlaud retrospective.

(vinified with 30% whole clusters): Good bright red. Musky aromas and flavors of small wild red fruits, game, mocha and coffee. Shows good spicy lift in the mouth, with the stem element contributing energy. Finishes with a darker black cherry flavor and very good verve and persistence.
