Tasting notes
The 2021 Carlmagnus has a rather staid nose that lacks the amplitude of its peers and needs more vigor and nuance. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, simple and balanced but with an austere finish.

The 2021 Carlmagnus exhibits aromas of cassis, dark berries and toasty oak. It is a medium-bodied, chunky, flavorful wine built around powdery tannins.
A 90/10 split of Merlot and Cabernet Franc still resting in 40% new barrels, the 2021 Château Carlmagnus has lots of ripe red and blue fruits as well as some flowery incense nuances. These carry to a medium-bodied, ripe, nicely textured, balanced wine that shows the fresher, elegant style of the vintage.
A medium-bodied, fruity and crunchy red with firm, grainy tannins. Notes of currants, violets and lemon zest. Rustic, chalky tannins. May soften.
