Tasting notes
Bright, healthy medium red. Cool, reserved aromas of tart red berries and licorice show chalky limestone lift. Delivers a distinctly cold, almost bitter-edged style of fruit, with the moderately dense cranberry and pomegranate flavors coming across as youthfully imploded in the early going. This low-fat style is all edges today and will need extended cellaring to harmonize. But there's something exhilarating about the wine's purity and energy.

About the producer

Nicolas Potel is one of Burgundy’s most talented and connected winemakers. He created Maison Roche de Bellene, the négoce arm of Domaine de Bellene, in 2008, using his extensive network in the region to source top-quality fruit for an "haute couture" négociant operation.
