Tasting notes
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Tête du Clos 1er Cru has a slightly more malic bouquet, well-defined and mineral-driven. This unveils greater marine influence with time in the glass. The palate has fine concentration and balance, very detailed with crisp mineralité and tension. A saline presence gets the saliva flowing. Quite linear towards the finish, this is a very classy Chassagne, even if it doesn't fully match the top wines in this flight. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

One of the more charming wines in the range, the 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot Tête du Clos bursts with notes of pear, buttery pastry, orange oil and baking spices. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with racy acids to underpin its fleshy core of fruit, it concludes with a saline finish.
