Exquisite aromas of dark fruits and perfume. Full body, with super well-integrated tannins and a caressing, silky textured palate. Refined and well-crafted. Better in 2015.

The 2008 Barolo Vigna d'la Roul emerges from the glass with freshly cut roses, spices, dark red cherries, mocha and menthol. This is another 2008 Barolo with terrific richness and gorgeous mid-palate pliancy. With time in the glass the wine shows off its considerable volume and sheer textural depth. Floral notes appear on the finish, adding lift and brightness. The oak is a bit pronounced, but this wine has a track record of developing very well in bottle.

(these vines are 35 years old): Bright, deep red. Raspberry and nutty oak aromas. Sweet and lush, but with harmonious acidity giving shape and verve to the fine-grained flavors of currant and licorice. This boasts suaver tannins than the 2007 version yet finishes with at least as much force.
