2020 Cornas Pur Noir

Brooding purple color. Intensely perfumed, spice-tinged aromas of dark fruit preserves, incense, cola, smoked meat and potpourri are energized by a bright mineral flourish. Sweet and chewy in the mouth, offering densely packed yet vibrant blackberry, cherry preserve, olive and fruitcake flavors, along with suggestions of candied violet and black pepper. The floral and mineral notes resonate strongly on an impressively long, incisive finish that quickly builds tannins and reverberates smokiness.
