Tasting notes
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village has a gentle, lilting bouquet of dark cherries, raspberry preserve and light floral tones. The palate is medium-bodied with blackberry and raspberry fruit, grainy tannins, fine acidity and a touch of spice toward the finish. Drink over the next five to eight years.

Rich aromas of cherries, raspberries and espresso toast introduce the 2018 Vosne-Romanée Village, a medium to full-bodied, supple and textural wine, with an enveloping core of fruit, fine and powdery tannins. This is a dramatic and expressive Vosne that's typical of the domaine style.
The only blend among his wines, from 11 different vineyards and including 5% premier cru. Mainly clay soil at the bottom of the slope plus about 20% from higher slopes. 350-litre casks for the most part, plus about 30% 228-litre. 100% new. Tank sample. Mid cherry red. Open and fragrant. So pretty but not sweet. Dark-red fruit with peony scent. Succulent, super-fine tannins, delicate yet long and has generous fruit as well as elegance and tenderness. (JH)
